The ASC will offer smallholders a credible label that will bring added value and market access that can raise your livelihood. Through its smallholder programme the ASC will offer training in best management practices and will help getting soft money to invest in responsible management practices.
Processors
ASC certified seafood gives you the security that the fish you procure is farmed with the utmost care for people and the environment. The ASC can offer you a responsible, certified and secure supply of fish that suits your CSR goals. Retail & Foodservice companies
ASC certified seafood bearing the consumer label is a credible responsible product for a reasonable price that will create consumer loyalty and will address the growing demand for responsibly produced products from your customers. This will fit in your ambitions to create competitive advantage in the consumers' market by offering responsible products without adding too much costs to it. Governments
The ASC organises responsible supply chains in the aquaculture sector and thus helps achieving the millennium goals of your government. The ASC is actively making progress in the Millennium Development Goals 3 (Gender Equality), 7 (Environmental Sustainability) and 8 (Global Partnership). The ASC inclusion of smallholders will create market access to smallholders and bring them market opportunities that can help raise their livelihood and will contribute to Third World development goals. The Dutch government is supporting the ASC through the IDH.
NGOs
For any NGO that is interested in mainstream responsibility in the aquaculture sector the ASC is your partner in creating real change on the water. The ASC has the network and the business model that can create market pull through and demand for responsibly farmed seafood.
